The Judge's Lodging

GV II*

House. Early C18. Brick with stone quoins and sill bands,
plain tiled roof. 3-storeyed, 6 bays. Central doorway with
deeply moulded pediment and bolection moulded architrave with
flanking side lights with finely gauged flat-arched brick
heads. 2 blind window spaces to the left, two 12-pane sashes
to the right on each floor, and 12-pane sashes over the
doorway. Moulded eaves band, then a high parapet with blank
recessed panels. Gable end stacks. Rear elevation has 2
full-height canted bays each side of a central section with
doorcase with segmental broken pediment surmounted by urn.
INTERIOR: entrance hall with staircase with 2 balusters to
each step, scrolled tread ends. Panelled rooms and a plastered
ceiling of C18.
