House. Mid C19. Squared, coursed limestone, ashlar lateral
stack and stone slate cross-gabled roof. Single-depth plan
with right-hand cross wing. Picturesque Gothic Revival style.
Single storey and attic; 2-window range.
Entrance gable has an open timber porch with turned balusters
along sides and stone benches, to a Tudor-arched doorway and
studded door; first-floor plat band. 1- and 4-light mullion
and transom windows with casements and labels; left-hand
return has a gabled bay, right-hand return has a canted
ground-floor oriel with moulded ashlar top and bottom, and a
gable finial. Cusped decorative barge-boards to gables. Stack
has 2 octagonal shafts with moulded tops. Small shield panels
at the tops of the eaves. INTERIOR not inspected. Formerly a
lodge to the Bowood Estate.
