House, formerly 2 cottages. Probably late C17, built in 2 phases, thoroughly
renovated in the 1970s. Framed construction, the ground floor weatherboarded,
the first floor tile-hung; peg-tile roof, gabled at ends; brick stacks.
Plan: The house faces approximately north and fronts the road. Modernised
internally with partitions altered. It is a 2 phase house, the right (west)
end probably the earlier, has been raised.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4-window front; roof gabled at ends;
projecting end stacks with tile-hung set-offs. Half-glazed C20 front door to
left of centre flanked by small-pane windows. 4 ground and 4 first floor
small-pane top-hung C20 casements. 4 similar first floor windows. One attic
dormer with a hipped roof and small pane casement.
Interior: Exposed carpentry of a plain character. The wall framing is of
slender scantling with formed jowls to the wall posts.
Roof: C20 replacement.
