House, possibly an inn, now house row. C17, with earlier core and later alterations. Timber framed. Front elevation rendered. Right gable end pebbledashed towards base, weatherboarded above. Plain tile roof. Built at right-angles to road, on high bank. Main range of about two timber-framed bays. Cross-wing to left (west) end, projecting to rear. Short rear wing added to right, having crosswing or further addition at right-angles, parallel to main range and with gable end projecting slightly towards road. Main range and right addition two storeys. Left wing and rear range two storeys and garret, with higher eaves and ridge. High ragstone retaining wall merges with cellar walls and plinth of right gable end. Roof of main range hipped to right, roof of left wing hipped to front. Multiple brick ridge stack to left end of main range. Irregular fenestration of four casements; one three-light to left wing and two two-light and one three-light to main range. Ribbed door to No. 2 towards centre under plain-tile pentice. Rear doors to Nos. 1 and 3. Short single-storey addition projecting forwards from left end of main range.
Interior: only partly inspected. Exposed framing to main range. Clasped purlin roof with re-used smoke-blackened rafters. Stone fireplace.
