Whitbread's Brewery buildings (that
part in London Borough of Islington)

Brewery buildings. Mid-to-late C19. Yellow brick set in
Flemish bond with dressings of blue and white brick. The front
reads as two blocks, that to the north three storeys over
basement and five-window range, that to the south two storeys
over basement and eight-window range, with a narrower
three-storey linking block with lower parapet. All windows
segmental-arched with gauged brick heads, the basement windows
to south block having blue brick dressings, and a loading bay
on second floor of north block with dressings of white brick;
except that the ground and first floor windows to the linking
block are flat-arched. Two storey round-arched opening to
north block late C20; single bay at south end with similar
arch of similar date; parapet with iron railing above.
