Marble monument to -Thomas Hall MA late rector of this parish d 19 Jul 1775 aged 58. He married Elizabeth daughter of Robert Darwin of Elston in the County of Nottingham esquire by whom he had issue Thomas, Elizabeth, Gertrude, Robert and William. Gertrude and Robert died in their infancy. Elizabeth his wife died 8 Apr 1800 age 74 years-. The Arms are Argent a mullet upon a chevron engrailed between three talbots heads sable langued gules (Hall) impaling Argent on a bend gules between two cotises vert three escallops or (Darwin). Burkes General Armory has, for Darwin of Elston Hall, a different arms quartered with Rhodes. The arms displayed may have been an option chosen for clarity. (Photo Mar 2014).
