Auction rooms and offices, now bank. c1910. By ER Sutton of
Nottingham. Ashlar and red brick with ashlar dressings. Roof
not visible. Classical Revival style. Rusticated basement,
dentillated cornice, blocking course. Symmetrical front, 2
storeys plus basement, 3 bays. Rusticated ground floor has a
splayed central entrance with segmental arch, leading to a
tiled passage. To the left, a showcase, and to right, a door.
On each side, single windows, that to right reglazed. Above, a
central recessed bow window with 4 composite sashes on each
floor. On each side, a single composite sash on each floor,
flanked by giant Ionic pilasters. Above again, a plain
entablature.
