Monument to General William and Catherine Booth in Abney Park Cemetery

Monument to General William Booth (1829-1912) and his wife Catherine (1829-1890). Sandstone shield, renewed, with gilt lettering, behind a kerbed plot. Booth was the founder of the Salvation Army in 1878 and his wife is known as the 'mother' of the movement. Listed because of their supreme importance in the late Victorian development of non-conformity.
