House, now 2 dwellings. Probably early to mid C19; altered.
Pebble-dashed render, sandstone dressings painted white, tiled
roof. Double-depth double-fronted plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys over a high service basement, symmetrical,
with a painted plinth, regular quoining and a moulded gutter
cornice with a blocking course. The basement has 2 rectangular
windows with plain surrounds, that to the left with metal
shutters and that to the right with sashed glazing now painted
black, flanking a quarter-turned flight of 7+3 stone steps
protected by renewed bar railings, leading to a large
round-headed doorway which has a keyed moulded surround and a
set-in wooden doorcase with 2 fluted columns, a C20
part-glazed door, a moulded cornice and large plain fanlight.
Flanking the doorway are rectangular windows with quoined
surrounds including keystones, and there are 3 matching
windows above, all these windows sashed without glazing bars.
Gable copings and gable chimneys. Rear not inspected.
INTERIOR: altered, but 2-room basement includes former kitchen
to right, with cast-iron cooking range (damaged) and a stone
table.
