GV II

House. Mid C18, extended early C19, restored 1985. For William
Carr. Variegate pink brick in Flemish bond, with painted
doorcase; stone copings and brick stack to pantile roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 1-window front, gable end on
street. To left, 4-panel door with divided overlight in plain
doorcase with pilasters, shaped imposts and modillion cornice
hood. To right, tripartite window with squat 12-pane centre
sash, beneath timber lintel; on first and attic floors, squat
12-pane sashes with segmental arches. All windows have renewed
sills. Raised bands at first and attic floor levels.
INTERIOR: not inspected. RCHM records original staircase with
turned balusters, square newels and moulded handrail.
