Octagonal structure, up 4 octagonal steps, has thick, round column on top from
which protrude 4 basins, each under a pedimented alcove. Classical treatment
in sandstone except for grey granite panels between alcoves. Pointed roof.
Inscription; erected as a memorial of the late Major Barker JP by the work-people
of Thornes Mills, 1893.
