Stable block, now office and store. Later C18, (but incorporating datestone
of 1707); altered. Coursed squared sandstone, stone slate roof. Rectangular
plan. Two storeys and 8 bays; low plinth; altered opening in centre,
otherwise tall doorways to the left half (1st and 3rd corniced, 4th altered
as window, and to the right a corniced window, an inserted doorway, and
2 doorways (the last corniced); square windows at 1st floor except in
7th bay, which is loading door altered as window; all these openings with
raised plain surrounds. In centre of 1st floor a square wall sundial
(lacking gnomon). Hipped roof. Right-hand return wall has a square window
at ground floor, and a carved datestone at 1st floor with raised date "1707"
flanked by carved flowers; both with raised plain surrounds. Small later
additions at both ends not included in the item . Interior altered.
