Detached house, previously a manse and an inn. C18. Ham stone cut and squared, ashlar dressings; double Roman clay
tiled roof between coped gables; stone slab chimney stacks. East elevation 2 storeys, 3 bays. Bay 1 ashlar faced, with
3-light plain mullioned windows with rectangular- leaded lights, some iron-framed opening lights with curved stays:
upper bays 2 and 3 have small 3-light leaded casement windows of early pattern, with a C20 leaded casement to lower bay
2 and a 3-light stone mullioned window of uncertain date to lower bay 3: between bays ½ a plain doorway with beaded
surround and 6-panelled door. Further leaded windows to rear, in a lean-to; also a Major C20 extension. Interior not
seen. This building aquired for a manse to the Baptist Chapel in 1830, which then stool adjacent to this property;
subsequently it became the Shoemaker's Arms Inn. (VCH Vol III, 1974).
