"The Highlight" is a monument built in memory to all those who lost their lives at sea and dates back to 1839. It was moved from its original site, at the Vulcan Materials Company in the town's Windermere Road some years ago, when Hartlepool Marina was built. It now stands overlooking the Marina on a road called The Highlight.
