Coat of Arms of Queens College Cambridge dated 1728. The arms are : Quarterly of six, Hungary, Naples, Jerusalem, Anjou, Barr and Lorraine, all within a bordure vert, and are those of Margaret of Anjou, Queen of Henry VI, who first founded the college in 1448 in emulation of her husband's foundation. It was refounded in 1465 by Elizabeth, Queen of Edward IV. This is noted on a panel below the Arms. A second panel - Dono Dedit Parochianis Reverendis Vir. Nocolaus Penny Hujius Ecclesiae Rector Anno Domini 1726-. -Gift given to the Parish by the Reverend Vicar Nicholas Penny, Rector of this Church AD 1726-. The connection with Cambridge was begun by rector Ralph Babyngton, who studied there. (Photo Sept 2012).
