Terraced house. c.1729 by John Barnes, bricklayer, some early C.19
alterations to front. Brown brick, concealed roof. 4 storeys and
basement (top floor early C.19). 3 windows wide. Entrance to left
with original panelled door but early C.19 fanlight and painted stone
architrave altered to basket handle arched head. Recessed glazing bar
sashes with flat gauged red brick arches and stucco architraves added
early to mid C.19 on ground, 1st and 2nd floors. Plain parapet
coping. Wrought iron area railings with urn finials. Interior
virtually unaltered and fully, panelled with passage hall and full
height closet wing with angle fireplaces. Dog leg closed string
staircase with turned balusters and column newels. Panelled rooms
have bolection chimney pieces and double panelled overmantels, box
cornices etc.
