- Firs Farmhouse

Barn and stables. Probably C18 enlarged and altered in C19. Rubble, brick
dressings, stone slate roofs. 8 bays with right part enlarged forward in C19.
Left part: 4 entrances to left, 2 square windows to centre, double almost
full height entrance to right hand side. Right part: one and a half storeys,
2 segmental-headed C19 windows with C20 shutters and brick heads, 2 loft door-
ways to first floor: one above door between ground floor windows and one to
right above cart access doors. Interior: apart from extreme left truss which
has a kingpost, the left part has trusses with heavy ties and collars joined by
vertical struts; the 3 right hand bays in the enlarged stables have C19
machine-cut trusses. The left part contains cattle-pens and the right 3 loose
boxes. Included for group value with Firs Farmhouse (qv).
