Printing works, now offices. Early C19 with later alterations.
Stucco over brickwork, Welsh slated roof behind parapet.
Neo-classical design.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with first floor plat band. Centre breaks
forced with 4 Tuscan pilasters, frieze and cornice, with
blocking course above. 1:3:1 wooden sash windows, with glazing
bars in reveals, tall 12-pane frames on first floor, square
6-pane frames to second floor. Ground floor treated as
basement podium with 3 segmentally headed windows in centre,
recessed entrance at right.
INTERIOR: much altered in 1970s and not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: site of Briant's Bell Foundry, established
c1780 in earlier buildings, Simson (later Simson Shand)
printing works established on site c1830 and rebuilt in
frontage block.
