Terrace of 3 houses. Late C19 incorporating part late
C16/early C17 structure continuing from No.3 (qv). Red brick,
laid to Flemish bond, concrete tiled roof (No.9 retains old
tiles) above dogtooth and band brick cornice; red brick
chimneystacks.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attics. 4 box casement dormers on rear
roof slope. First floor has 4 irregularly spaced recessed sash
windows with divided glazing below segmental rubbed brick
arches with alternating bands of red and black brick; ground
floor 3 sash windows under similar arches, No.5 has part
glazed C19 door with 2 lower flush panels; No.7 has modern
half-glazed door, No.9 has C19 door with 2 full length flush
panels. Rear has part plaster and modern pargeting.
INTERIOR: several bays of braced tie beam construction and
exposed beams with chamfer and tongue stops. 2 attics in No.5,
roof not accessible. No.9 has evidence for former jettied
front; roof purlins exposed in attic, roof has heavy halved
and paired rafters without ridge.
