Terrace of 3 houses, now attached pair. Early C19
incorporating part of C16 almshouses.
Squared, coursed limestone rubble, No.3 rendered, formerly
limewashed, with brick right-hand gable stack and ridge stacks
to middle and left-hand unit, and stone slate roof.
PLAN: single-depth.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; No.1 a 1-window range, No.3 a
3-window range. Left-hand doorways with plain timber canopies
and C20 doors, and at the left-hand end a 4-centre arched
through-passage with a small finial and C20 brick lining
containing the left-hand entrance to St John's Court.
Segmental-arched brick heads to 2/2-pane late C19 horned
sashes; right-hand gable has small attic casements either side
of stack. Rear has 3 first-floor casements.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: the archway is a C19 replacement of the
original entrance to St John's Court (qv).
