GV II

Lookout tower. Mid C19. Rendered and colourwashed brick; slate
roofs.
EXTERIOR: 3-storey square tower fitted with single-light
casements at intervals. South side with cast-iron external
winder staircase leading to plank door in top floor. Some
minor decoration to west face in form of plaster brackets and
aedicules. On east face, top floor has a cantilevered viewing
gallery supporting C20 glazed porch. Pyramidal roof surmounted
by weather vane in form of a wherry. Single-storey building at
base.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Lookout tower was built in competition with the North Lookout
Tower (qv).
