Row of 4 houses, formerly 5 houses. c1830. Coursed rubble with ashlar
dressings and slate roofs with 4 stacks. Street front, 2 storey over
basement, 6 window range. Ground floor has central window with glazing
bar sash, in raised ashlar surround, to the left a similar window and
beyond a former doorway with a window inserted. Set back to the left a
round headed doorway with rusticated surround and 2 panel door with
fanlight. To the right a pair of doorways with raised ashlar surrounds
and plain doors with overlights, beyond a further glazing bar sash and
beyond again a further set-back round headed doorway with rusticated
surround and C20 glazed door with fanlight. Above a moulded first floor
band and 4 glazing bar sashes in raised ashlar surrounds with eitherside
single narrow sashes, that to right plain. INTERIOR: Ashlar stone
staircase, with ladder type stairs to attics First floor rooms have
wooden plank partitions with glazed over-lights. Some original fireplaces
on the upper floors.
