House and adjoining garden wall. Early and mid C19. Coursed
squared stone with ashlar front, rendered gables and Welsh
slate roofs with 2 coped stone side wall stacks. Plinth, first
floor band, eaves cornice and blocking course. 2 storeys; 3
window range. Recessed centre with a plain sash, flanked by
single 2-storey bow windows with single plain sashes above and
tripartite plain sashes below. Central half-glazed double door
with segmental overlight. Set back rear wing has coped gables
and a single gable stack. INTERIOR not inspected.
Across the front of the rear wing, a brick garden wall with
slab coping and 2 doorways, the left one segment-headed.
The home of Thomas Staniforth, scythe manufacturer, of the
nearby Severquick Works (not included).
