SS 80 SE UPTON HELLIONS

Cottage. Early-mid C19. Volcanic rubble with squared volcanic dressings;
rubble stacks topped with rendered brick chimneyshafts; thatched roof. L-shaped
building with one room and entrance lobby main block facing south with service wing
to rear of left (west) end. End stacks to each wing. Cottage ornee. 2 storeys.
One window front of C20 replacement casements with glazing bars, a 3-light ground
floor window under segmental arch of volcanic stone towards right end and smaller
2-light window to first with thatched gable over. Both have shutters. Plank door
at; left end has stone-walled porch with gabled and tiled roof. Each end corner
has rusticated chamfered quoins of volcanic stone. Stack projects from right
gable end. Roof hipped to right. Gable end to rear and short west side includes
narrow single light to first floor with thatch gable over.
