SS 80 SW UPTON HELLIONS

3 cottages, now a house. C17, C19 and C20. Plastered cob and rubble; cob or
rubble stacks topped with C19 brick; thatched roof. Range of 3 rooms facing south
comprising original C17 one room cottage at right (east) end with 2 C19 one room
cottages at lower level to left (west), and small C20 service block adjoining to
rear of east end. End stack to left and axial stack shared by centre and right
rooms. 2 storeys. Irregular 3-window front of late C19 and C20 casements with
glazing bars. The lower C19 section has symmetrical 2 window arrangement with
central doors (left now blocked). First floor right end window has thatch gable
over. Door to right room in end walls. Roof gable-ended to left, half-hipped to
right. Right room has C17 chamfered and scroll stopped crossbeam. Centre room
has plain chamfered cross beam and timber-framed newel stair.
