House. Mid and late C18. Yellow brick front, mansard Welsh
slated roof with casement box dormer behind parapet. Basement
stucco faced. 2 storeys and attic. First floor band, cornice
band of red brick and green bottle ends. 2 first floor sash
windows with glazing bars in reveals under flat arches.
Segmentally arched panel on ground floor contains canted oriel
bay with sash window. 4 panel front door and dummy fanlight in
arched semicircular headed reveal. Above front door is London
Royal Exchange fire insurance plate No 72928 dated 1778.
Boarded passage door on left, also with a dummy fanlight. This
house originated as a mid-C18 dower house on a footpath which
pre-dated the construction of New Road in 1830.
