Includes: No.1 NEW STREET Tiddington.
Terrace of 7 houses. c1830. Brick with buff headers and stucco
dressings; hipped slate roof with hipped end, brick end stacks
and 2 cross-axial stacks. Georgian style. 2 storeys; 10-window
range forming 3 symmetrical compositions, and end window to
No.1 New Street. Plain eaves. Pairs of entrances with Tuscan
doorcases and overlights to 4-flush-panel doors flank entries
with friezes and cornices over plank doors. Windows have
sills, and rusticated wedge lintels with keys over 12-pane
sashes, 2 inserted 1st-floor windows, one to No.34 with wedge
lintel, one to No.40; right end has canted bay window with
hipped roof and 8:12:8-pane sashes, blind window above. Right
return to New Street is 4-window range with similar details,
entrance with C20 door and windows with 16-pane sashes, 2
windows to 1st floor with 12-pane sashes; end stack. A good
example of well-preserved early C19 houses.
