Farmhouse, now house. C16 or C17 with C18 addition and later
alterations. Timber-frame with plaster and brick infilling and
painted brick, the front clad in plaster; tile roof with brick
stacks. L-plan.
2 storeys; 4-window range. Entrance to right of centre has
canopy and 6-flush-panel door, 2 glazed. Ground floor has
window with 3-light small-paned casement, French window with
side lights to left end, and canted bay window with
small-paned glazing to right end; 1st floor has windows with
3-light small-paned glazing; all casements have iron opening
casements. Axial stack to rear of ridge and right end external
stack. Some of the cladding has come off revealing
stud-and-lath bearing and timber-framing behind.
Right return has exposed square framing and windows with
2-light leaded casements; large gabled dormer to right of
stack has 3-light transomed casements with leaded glazing,
smaller flat-roofed dormer to right; end stack to old part,
and 2-window C18 brick range with 2-light casements, external
end stack and return lean-to.
Rear has exposed square framing on brick plinth; varied
fenestration with 2- and 3-light casements.
Return of wing has C20 glazed lean-to porch and entrance with
3-light window above; C18 part has pegged frame to plank door
and 2-light windows, one ground-floor window barred, probably
unglazed dairy window; small-paned casements with iron opening
casements to 1st floor.
INTERIOR not inspected but noted as having through-passage
with timber-framed interior walls. The barn is now in separate
ownership.
