House. Early C19 and enlarged in similar style soon after. End
on to road, ground drops steeply to N. Gault brick with slated
roof. Rectangular plan of earlier unit and later parallel
range to W. 2 storeys with cellar entered fron N ground level.
E front elevation: 3 bays, central doorway with 4-paned
over-light door of 3 flush beaded panels. Ground and first
floor windows to N blind. 3 rest have C20 2-light casements.
All windows and doorways have slightly segmented heads with
refined voussoirs. S end elevation: 2 gables of original unit
and broader addition. W block projecting eaves and purlins.
Tall twin shafted stack on W gable and lesser stack seen set
back in central valley. E unit has single ground floor window
with C20 thick glass block panes, blind window aperture above
on first floor. W end unit blank. N end elevation: twin gabled
as S end with similar chimney positions and eaves. W unit
similarly blank. E block, lower cellar ground floor has plain
boarded C19 door and adjacent C19 4x3 paned sash window
flanked by deep Fletton brick buttress piers each side. Street
ground floor, one C19 4x4 panes sash window. Upper floor,
single C20 top-opening double casement window. W, garden
elevation: 3 bays, central doorway with over-light, door has 2
upper glazed panels and 2 lower depressed panels. To S, plain
C19 sash window (no horns). To N, 3-cant bay window, roof of
C19 decorative tiles, C19 sashes. First floor, central window
blind, outer ones both C20 top-opening double casements.
Stacks at each gable end with roll moulded bases, shafts have
corbelled brick heads.
INTERIOR: stack arrangement clearly shows original slender E
block with 2 rear stacks to back with more spacious added W
block with end wall stacks. Different builds shown by altered
stair system and slight difference in constructional methods
used.
