Terraced row of 8 workers' houses. Early/mid C19. Gault brick,
slate roofs. Rectangular plan. 2 storey with cellars, stacks
to each pair of houses with short square C19 chimney-pots.
Road slopes down to N and row built in 2 stepped identical
runs of 4 with steps up to front doors increasing to N end.
Front, W elevation: each run has central round arched rear
access passageway with stable style door. Between Nos 10 & 12
lower framed and boarded leaf original, between Nos 18 & 20
original red and yellow brick paving, blind window apertures
above. All houses have single ground and first floor windows,
slightly segment headed. All except No.18 have original
sashes, no horns, with glazing bars, 4x4 panes. Original front
doors to Nos 8, 10, 14 & 20, have flush, bead-moulded panels.
6 cellar windows remain, 4 with street grilles. Rear: red
brick, all houses now have single storey, flat-roofed C20
additions. First floor windows mainly replaced, were of 4x4
paned casements. S end elevation: red brick, first floor 1x2
paned casement window, roof void has 2x3 paned casement. N
elevation: gault brick with 2x3 paned casement to roof void.
Nos 8, 14, 20 & 22 still have crown-glass window panes.
