Formerly known as: No.25 HIGH STREET.
2 houses. C17, C18 and C20 refurbished. Timber-framed and
plastered with C20 panel pargetting. Hipped peg-tiled roof.
Plan L shaped of principal rectangular range with rear wing at
E end. 2 storeys and rear attic. Front, N elevation: 5
principal sash windows with glazing bars, 3x4 panes, in 3
recessed bays but centre ground floor blank. 2 doorways in
projecting bays, both with flat cornice hoods and over-light.
(No.25A has intersecting curved glazing bars); both have a
6-panelled door. Above, on the first floor, each has a small
arch headed window of 2 panes in square framing. Rear, S
elevation: principal 2 window range with full height stopped
gable wing. Single window range at E end. Small secondary
stack through E roof pitch of wing. All windows and doors of
C20 restoration. Windows, casements with glazing bars, mainly
3-light, ground floor 6x4 panes, first floor 6x3 panes. Wing
attic gable has 2-light window as rest, 4x3 panes. Wing return
W face has ground and first floor window as rest plus a single
light casement on both floors, ground floor 2x4 panes, first
floor 2x3 panes. 2 back doors, in principal range and wing W
face both C20 with 4 panels, upper 3 glazed. E elevation:
considerably obscured by No.27 but has first floor simple
2-light casement window 2x2 panes, also, central to front
range, dormer window of 2 lights, 2x3 panes. W end elevation:
blank.
INTERIOR of No.25 inspected. Some rear wall studding exposed
on ground floor. Roofs of principal range and wing of joggled
butt side purlin form with deep collars, trapping side purlins
now removed for attic use. Roof framing implies wing built
first and street range secondary.
