3 attached houses. 1854. Limestone ashlar front and rendered
sides, party wall stacks and a pantile and slate hipped roof.
Double-depth plan. Italianate style. 3 storeys, basement and
attic; 2-window range. The outer houses set forward, with
clasping pilaster strips to a frieze with square panels and a
cornice, and attic storey with coped parapet and scrolled
brackets to the coped party walls. Middle houses have
left-hand doorways with moulded architraves, outer full-height
entrance blocks have doorways with overlights, all with
3-panel doors. Plain middle ground-floor console cornices, to
2/2-pane sashes with margin panes. Cast-iron bracketed
balconies to the middle houses. INTERIOR: central lateral
dogleg stair with stick balusters and curtail, cornices and
6-panel doors. Part of a group of 3 matching blocks with Nos
8-10 & 11-13 (qv).
