House. Late C16/mid C17 with C19 alterations and additions.
Roughcast brick; tile roof with roughcast end stacks. 2
storeys; 3-window range. Platt band over ground floor.
Segmental-headed windows with small-paned casements, but 1st
floor right-end oriel window with cornice; entrance to left of
centre has gabled porch; coped gable and round-arched
entrance, C20 inner door. Rear has central gabled wing with
2-storey canted bay with hipped roof, single-storey gabled
wing with triangular oriel to left and bay window with cornice
to right; some windows have leaded upper lights. INTERIOR:
stop-chamfered beams and timber-framed cross walls; rear room
has C19 panelling; 1st floor room has early C20 mural painting
illustrating history of cottage. House recorded in C16 as Blue
Bell Inn.
