Inscription on the old chapel. I find the Victorian Blackletter script somewhat obscure, but here is my attempt -Iesu Cucifixo et B(enedicta) Mariae V(irginis) Sme (=Suae?) Lave Conc(e)p Diae Sacrum- which I interpret as close to -To Jesus of the Cross and the Blessed Virgin Mary her Immaculate Conception of Holy God-. (Photo Apr 2008).
