A new, larger, chapel was required when student numbers increased. By Ernest Bower Norris 1958. The architecture contains elements from churches like the Byzantine St Sophia (its dome, apse and rounded lobes at intermediate levels). The airy, light-gathering transepts, achieved by hanging the walls and glazing from a load-bearing frame, balance the old with the new. (Photo Apr 2008).
