Buildings

Row of cottages. C18. Coursed rubble-stone walls. Thatch roofs with a
cross-wing at top and stepped down half way along and near bottom end. Half-
hipped at north end. 5 brick stacks at rear top gable and spaced along ridge.
Rear elevation on the lane. Front (east) elevation: 2 storeys. c 15 windows,
3 light wooden casements, some with leaded panes, otherwise horizontal glazing
bars. Wooden cills. Segmental brick arch-heads to ground floor windows, no
brick jambs. 5 operative front doors, wooden with glass lights in top half.
3 C20 porches in wooden weatherboarding. Rear elevation: 3 light casements
at first floor level, 3 with fixed leaded lights. No doorways. Long expanse
of Lias masonry.
