Former Methodist Theological College. Finished 1881, by Goddard and Ball.
Brick with purple diaper and butt terracotta dressings. In a Perpendicular
style. Nine 2-storey bays either side of a tower with gabled cross-wings
with large transomed windows lwft and right, that on the left the great hall.
The windows all 2-lights and with 2-centred arched heads. Terracotta banding.
The tower of 4 storeys plus a deep parapet with big polygonal clasping turrets
terminating in cupolas. Big 2-storeyed oriel window above the entrance.
Above the oriel, 2 tall mullioned and transomed windows with 4-centred arched
heads. Parapet on elaborate corbelling.
