GV II

Terrace of 8 cottages. Late C18. Brick with stone flagged roofs. Low 2 storeys, 8-window range. Outer dwellings have doorways to the gable-end returns (the gable end of no.278 has been rebuilt), the rest have central doorways, all are single-unit plans. Nos 272-276 have doorways with leaded  overlights, probably c1930, the windows of Nos 270 and 272  also c1930 - tall leaded lights. Windows of Nos 274-276 renewed and ground-floor window of no.278 altered. Earlier windows survive in Nos 266 and 268 - 4-light  mullioned window to ground floor of No.268, and 3-light  mullioned window over. Mullioned window to left of entrance to No.266, now 2-lights, probably once 4. Brick stacks in end  walls.
