10/05/89 Toll office adjacent to York Street
Lock

Canal Toll office. Dated 1853. White-washed brick and Welsh
slate roof with brick left end stack. Single-storey,
single-window range. Central canted bay window with plaque
over inscribed AD 1853, all set within slightly projecting
small gable. Doorway in small extension to right. Gable apexes
have turned and pointed wooden finials. Forms a group with the
Lock shop (q.v.) at the head of the canal basin.
