Also known as: House to right of No.35, Queen's Head Inn FRONT
STREET West Auckland.
House, later shop, now house. Mid C18, with C19 and C20
alterations. Incised render with painted plinth and ashlar
dressings. Synthetic tile roof with brick and rendered
chimneys.
2 storeys, 2x1 windows. Renewed door and windows. Station Road
front has 2 wide steps up to 8-panel door to right of centre
in painted plain stone surround with key inscribed H/CE/1741.
Small C19 shop window at left has 4 panes under frieze and
cornice. Painted projecting stone sills to windows at right
and on first floor, with C20 casements. Left return to Front
Street has C19 shop front with narrow pilasters supporting
fascia and cornice, door recessed at right, and wide shop
window with top glazing bars. Single C20 casement above.
Steeply pitched roof has swept eaves and raised gables with
end chimneys.
