2 houses. Mainly c1700 but probably earlier, C17?.
Timber-framed and plastered, peg-tiled roof, red brick stack.
L shaped plan. 2 storeys. Front N elevation: 2 window range,
shared stack, doorways adjacent to outer sides of windows,
whole grouping off centre towards E end of block, clear
building break with blank W end. Traces of fan-combed panelled
pargetting under colour wash. Doorcases C19, flat hoods bead
moulded, doors of 6 bead-moulded flush panels. Windows, ground
floor C19 2-light casements with glazing bars, 4x3 panes.
First floor early C18, moulded architraves, 2-light casements
with leaded panes. E end elevation: ground floor peg-tiled
lean-to, house end gable, first floor sliding sash window 4x3
panes. Pair of roof purlins exposed above. W end elevation:
C17 ground floor rectangular bay window under old pentice
roof, window framing ovolo moulded, 1:5:1 lights, later
2-paned casement to each light. Doorway adjacent with moulded
architrave, simple cornice hood. C20 door. First floor, one
3-light C19 window 3x2 panes, one C20 casement window 2x2
panes, above, 3 purlins visible in each roof pitch, also wall
plates exposed. Rear slated ground floor lean-to with C20
casement window. Building break on house front and triple
purlins on gable at W end clearly show more than one phase of
construction.
