GV II

Pair of cottages. Mid C18 with Cl9 and C20 alterations. Coursed squared
gritstone with gritstone dressings and raised quoins, also plinth and coved
eaves band. Stone slate roof to eastern cottage and C20 concrete tile roof
to other, both have brick gable end stacks to east. Both two storeys and
originally both two bays but western cottage now three bays. Western cottage
has blocked, raised quoined doorcase with raised keystone, now partly filled
by C20 window, to west. To east an inserted flush doorcase with C20 plank door
and beyond a raised Venetian window with raised keystone to arch. Above two
2-light raised, square sectioned mullion windows, that to west with blocked
western light, and beyond to west C19 plain sash in plain surround. Eastern
cottage has slightly raised plain doorcase with C20 door to west and 2-light square
sectioned mullion window in raised surround to east. Above two similar windows.
Fenestration mainly small pane fixed lights or casements.
