Public house and offices. Mid C18, early C19, c1880 and C20 additions. Coursed
limestone rubble to C18 section, rendered to south, early C19 section also rendered,
1880's section in random limestone and gritstone rubble. Gritstone dressings and
quoins; plain tile roofs, with crested ridge tiles to 1880's section, blue brick
gable end and ridge stacks and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. Three
storeys to C18 and early C19 section, two storey 1880's section, uneven T-plan.
North-south range has C18 section to north cut in two by 1880's wing. To north, 2-
light flush mullion window with similar above and similar, shallower, window to eaves.
To other side of 1880 wing, C20 addition to ground floor with 2-light flush mullion
window above and single light flush window to north. Above, shallow 2-light flush
mullion window. Early C19 section attached to south with off-centre chamfered flush
doorcase with C20 glazed panelled door. To north, C20 window in plain surround, and
to south, thin C20 window in flush surround. Above, two glazing bar sashes and one
plain sash in flush surrounds. Above again, three plain sashes in flush surrounds.
1880 wing, north elevation has central chamfered four-centred arch through building
with two chamfered 3-light mullion windows to west, and similar 2-light window to
east with four-centred arched chamfered doorcase with C20 door and single light
window beyond. Above archway, a jettied timber frame dormer with applied studding
and large 3-light window. To west two 2-light chamfered mullion windows and two
similar windows to east, that to far east considerably lower.
