Village Pump. C19. Cast iron and lead in wood casing, granite trough, coursed rubble
walls. A cast iron pump with wrought iron handle, set on a lead riser, spout discharges
to granite trough out of one stone set on area of paving to granite curb stone,contained
in splayed walls c1.25m high, to weathered coping. Width across front c2.8m, splays to
back wall c1.8m wide. A lead pipe also breaks through the wall at the back. Pump made
by PROKTER LANSON (Launceston). A complete survival, carefully maintained, on the edge
of the village green, opposite Greystones.
