Row of 3 houses in a village street, house to left formerly Methodist Chapel.
Late C18/early C19, possibly incorporating earlier building, with later
alterations. Rubble, former Chapel rendered with double Roman tiled roof and
louvre on ridge, 2 houses to right with pantiled roofs, large brick ridge and
gable stacks. All 2-storey, house to right has ground floor sash in exposed box
and door with narrow hood on brackets, small 9-pane sash with wider central pane
under eaves; central house has ground floor 6-pane sash with wider central pane
in exposed box, door with similar hood, similar sash under eaves; straight joint
to left rising to remains of timber member, possible former large door; former
Chapel to left has door with decorative strap hinges of C19 and limestone
modillion cornice on curved stone brackets, tall round-headed multi-pane window
to left with splayed glazing bars. Rear of first house has ground floor sash
with wider central pane and sash under eaves as on front, C20 lean-to to left
with door; central house has door with timber lintel to left, similar sash at
ground and first floor; former Chapel has lean-to with hipped roof and brick
dormer over similar round-headed window; timber member at first floor level
beneath ridge stack to rear right, corresponding to position of timber member at
front. Interiors: not inspected.
