FORRABURY AND
SX 19 SW MINSTER

2/10 Trecarne Gate
II
House. Circa early C18. Painted and rendered stone rubble, slate hung above ground
floor. Rag slate roof with gable ends. Projecting stone rubble stack with cloam oven
projection on left hand gable end.
Two room and cross or through passage plan, the hall kitchen on left heated by an end
stack and the probably smaller room on right unheated. In circa early C19 small
service rooms were added to rear in lean-to outshot and in further C19 outshot on
right hand gable end.
2 storeys. Asymmetrical two window front. Gound Floor; C20 2-light casement on left,
circa C19 gabled stone rubble porch with C20 stable-type door and single casement to
right. First floor with two C20 P.V.C. windows in C19 gabled half dormers. Stone
rubble lean-to extension on right hand gable end.
Interior partitions to passage removed, ceiling beams renewed and fireplace partly
blocked. Circa C18 roof structure.
Trecarne Gate is an important building in the unspoilt landscape above Boscastle and
the exterior remains unaltered.
