Farmhouse now divided into 2 private houses. Circa late C16 or early C17. Painted
and rendered slate stone rubble. Regular slate roof with gable ends and raised
eaves. Projecting stone rubble stack on left hand gable end with cloam oven
projection, projecting rear lateral stack with cloam oven projection and slate pot.
Truncated stone rubble stack on right hand gable end.
Plan altered, possibly originally 2 room and cross passage plan with smaller left
hand room heated by gable end stack and larger right hand room heated by a rear
lateral stack. It is possible that there was a small unheated inner room although
the partition, if there were a division, has now been removed. The stack on the
right hand gable end was possibly to heat the first floor chamber. Circa C19 lean-to
outshot on right hand gable end.
2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window front. Ground floor with C19 2-light casement on
left, part glazed C20 door, 3-light casement and C20 door to right with C20 window
adjoining. First floor has 3 C20 2-light casements. Single storey lean-to outshot
on right hand gable end.
Interior : partly remodelled and ceiling beams largely renewed. Fireplace in left
hand room with renewed timber lintel and C20 grate to fireplace in right hand room.
First floor not inspected.
Photograph of house in late C19 or early C20 illustrates earlier roof line; 3 first
floor half dormer windows with raking roofs and line of pigeon holes below eaves.
