Cottage for Poltesco water mill. Circa C18 (documentation from C19).
Whitewashed rubble stone with upper walls of cob. Thatched roof with brick
chimneys at gabled ends. 1 1/2 storeys, almost symmetrical, 2 window front.
Ground floor with two 12-pane horizontal sash windows flanking central C20
partly glazed stable door. Chamfered timber lintels with plain stops above
ground floor openings. Two 8-pane horizontal sliding sash windows above ground
floor windows. Chimney breast projects on right-hand gable end. C20 single
storey extension on left-hand gable end, glazed with shingle cladding and
asbestos slate hipped roof. Plain, slightly chamfered timber lintel over
fireplace on right. Roof timbers; rafters pegged at apex and at collars.
Probably millerworkers' cottage for Poltesco water mill.
