9/22 Fort York Cellars to south west of
Winch House
GV II
Former fish (pilchard) cellars and fishing lofts now used as fish sheds and
part-converted for domestic accommodation. Circa early C19 with later
alterations. Rubble stone and timber boarded with scantle slate roofs. Forms
series of open courts facing eastwards towards sea. Main central part with open
arcades supported on square granite piers. Sloping cobbled foors used by
cellars now removed. 1 and 2 storeys, asymmetrical, much altered. Included for
group value. In centre of village of Cadgwith continuing along east side of
road and onto beach.
