House, formerly part of poorhouse. (q.v. Cob Cottages and Hydeaway). C17,
remodelled C19. Rendered, colourwashed slatestone rubble, slate roof, brick
chimney at left end, chimney of local brick at right end adjoining room above cart
entrance between this house and the Old Cartaret Arms. Early handmade ridge tiles
above cartway. 2-storey 4 window range with off-centre entrance under sloping
slate roof. Ground floor windows: three 2-light timber casements with slate
sills, 6 panes per light, 8 panes per light on right. First floor windows : left,
2-light timber casement, 6 panes per light; middle, 3-light timber casement,
similar panes; right, similar. Window above cart entrance 2-light timber casement,
6 panes per light. Interior not inspected.
